To achieve this goal, the methods used include in depth interviews, direct observation, and data analysis using NVivo software with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected from eight informants, including teachers and students, as well as through documentation of teaching and learning activities for three months. The main findings show a significant increase in fluency, tajwid mastery, and self confidence of students in reading the Qur'an after the implementation of this method. The results of this study are expected to provide significant benefits for the development of curriculum and Qur'an learning practices in Islamic boarding schools and other Islamic educational institutions, especially in the Malang area. The main novelty of this study lies in the integration of a direct practice approach and innovative teacher competency standards, which have not been widely implemented, thereby enriching the literature and pedagogical practices in innovation-based and sustainable Qur'an teaching. This research also contributes to the development of knowledge regarding effective and innovative methods of teaching the Qur'an, and opens up opportunities for further research for long-term validation and development of broader learning models.</p> Zainal Abidin Ahmad Qusairi Copyright (c) 2026 Tarbawi Ngabar: Jurnal of Education 2026-01-31 2026-01-31 7 1 1 22 10.55380/tarbawi.v7i1.1166 Implementation of the Eco Habituation Program as an Effort To Foster Students’ Environmental Awareness https://www.jurnal.iairm-ngabar.ac.id/index.php/tarbawi/article/view/1180 <p>This study aims to describe the implementation of the Eco Habituation program as an effort to foster students’ environmental awareness at Eco Muhammadiyah Boarding School (Eco MBS) Malang. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that the Eco Habituation program is independently implemented through environmental habituation, integration of the program with dormitory and <em>pesantren</em> systems, and disciplinary guidance. The findings provide valuable insights for Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia with boarding systems to strengthen ecological character education. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of ecological and religious values within a sustainable habituation-based education system, enriching the literature on environmental management in Islamic schools.</p> Bulqis Moh. A qualitative field design was applied through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review, with data analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Johnny Saldana model. Findings show that Islamic Religious Education is carried out transformatively by engaging students in research-based learning projects grounded in Islamic education theories. This process encourages conscious, deep, and continuous internalization of religious values, enabling the integration of theory with daily life and producing contextual, reflective, and applicable religiosity. The study contributes to strengthening Islamic education practices in universities, especially in Kediri and comparable settings.
