Peran Doa Dalam Proses Penyembuhan Gangguan Jiwa : Pendekatan Integratif Antara Spiritualitas Dan Psikoterapi Dalam Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Mental
Abstract
Mental disorders are a health issue that is receiving increasing attention in modern society, because of its large impact on individuals and communities. The process of healing mental disorders often requires a comprehensive approach, covering various dimensions, namely psychological, biological and social. This approach is important because mental disorders are not only related to mental factors, but are also influenced by a person's physical condition and social environment. One approach that is gaining increasing attention is the integration of spirituality and psychotherapy. This approach recognizes the importance of spiritual elements, such as prayer, in healing mental disorders. Prayer, as part of spiritual practice, is believed to play an important role in improving patients' mental well-being. The belief that prayer can provide inner strength, calm, and a sense of hope to individuals experiencing psychological difficulties is increasingly accepted in the world of mental health. Research and studies on the relationship between spirituality and mental health show that the two can support each other. In the context of mental disorders, spirituality, especially prayer, can function as a means to relieve stress, increase self-confidence, and provide deeper meaning to life. Prayer can help individuals feel connected to a higher power, which can provide a sense of peace and hope in facing life's challenges. Meanwhile, psychotherapy functions to help individuals overcome mental problems in a more structured way, through scientifically based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotional therapy, or other therapies. The integration of spirituality in the psychotherapy process can provide an additional dimension, where patients are not only helped to understand and change negative thought patterns, but are also given space to explore and develop their spiritual beliefs. This integrative approach can provide double benefits: psychological and spiritual aspects both support the healing process, which in turn can improve the individual's quality of life. The combination of these two elements can help patients feel more whole in undergoing treatment and achieve better mental well-being. Therefore, this article aims to examine how prayer as a form of spirituality can be an important part in healing mental disorders, as well as how the synergy between spirituality and psychotherapy can have a positive impact on individuals facing mental health problems.
